Happy November, and welcome to our humble abode! Hubby and I have lived in New York for about 9–10 years now, and from moving around a handful of times (a few neighborhoods in Manhattan as well as Brooklyn and Queens), we have finally decided to purchase our very own home here in Brooklyn! It's pretty crazy to think that we own a piece of property. But just in time for our 5 year wedding anniversary, we moved into our new home early this summer and was so happy to finally be able to decorate it completely to our tastes. The space itself (it's a 1-bedroom apartment) is a typical NYC-apartment that is not extremely generous in space, so I knew I wanted just a few key pieces that really aligned with our aesthetics. We did have a few pieces we've collected over the years, like the Prouvé lamp, Eames House Bird, and FLOS lamps, but I've partnered with Design Within Reach (such a dream!) to highlight some of their most iconic pieces, like the Shell Chair and Min Bed. The Egg Collective console and mirror are really special to us bc the NYC-based studio is founded by three really amazing women, and Crystal from the team is a RISD alum (where Hoon and I both went to school). Calico Wallpaper and Bower (where our mirror is from) are also RISD Alum! We just wanted the whole space to be meaningful and have a similar sensibility even though they are all very unique. It took some time to get everything together (and I'm sure it will be ever-changing), but I'm happy to finally share with you a peek into our home! Will be sure to keep you updated as it evolves. :)
